LIVE MUSIC @ RED ROCK

get your red rocks off...
In case you haven't noticed, the live music venue in the SF bay area is an endangered species. At Red Rock, we are committed to the arts, and a major component of our artists' community is comprised of musicians, singers, bands, jazz-men-and-women, troubadours, songwriters, and instrumentalists. We host live music at least three nights a week, if not more. Check out our calendar page for the most recent info.

Set aside an evening this week or next to turn off the TV and venture out into the night to be with your fellow human beings and support a local band, or a touring artist appearing at Red Rock. You won't regret it.

MUSIC BOOKING @ RED ROCK
If you're an artist or band and are interested in performing live at Red Rock, contact KEVIN, our Creative Arts Director. In the e-mail, provide the following:

-a MySpace page or website where your music can be listened to. Attaching one or two tracks to the e-mail in mp3 format is fine.

-some possible dates you're interested in (after you've checked our calendar page and located a free date, or a date with an artist you think your music would fit well with).

YOUR PATIENCE IS APPRECIATED: If you've ever attempted to book a show, you well know the painful game of 'Wait & See' which is always in play. Unfortunately, like most venues, we get hundreds of e-mail requests for booking. If we don't respond to you in a timely fashion, it's not because we don't love you and wish you musical success for years to come. Please be patient and we'll do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

NOTE: We make every attempt to host artists of multiple genres, styles, and levels of professionalism. Keep in mind that Red Rock is a small venue with a low ceiling. If you are a hard rock / metal / punk / etc. group, we champion your music, we just might not be able to host it in the way nature intended. If your group can't 'play to the room,' we will have sound issues, problems, and bad vibes. Nobody wants that. Consider a solo, downtempo, or acoustic set, and let your music speak in a different way.

ALSO: We like to encourage younger musicians and give them a venue in which to perform. However, certain levels of quality must be maintained. If you and your band are still working on the basics, like playing in tune, getting all the way through songs without stopping, and executing the perfect scissor kick without tearing a groin muscle, keep practicing, and we'll be happy to book your group when you're ready to blow the doors off the place.
